What should you pay people who work for you in localization and translation? If you work for a company in one of these language functions, do you make as much money as the guy at the next desk? What kinds of benefits do language workers expect?

We get these kinds of questions all the time, so it’s time to survey the market. Two years ago we conducted a sales- and marketing-focused survey that became our report called Wages of Translation. This time around we’re surveying everybody involved in producing international products and translations. That means you.

Our survey is anonymous. Our report based on this data will map how people are paid and what benefits they enjoy in positions such as project management, sales, vendor management, translation, operations, DTP, among others.

We will collect responses until mid-September. All respondents will have access to a summary report of our findings — you can also enter a drawing for five US$100.00 American Express gift certificates.

Please forward this message to any translation or localization professional — buyer or vendor — that you know. The bigger the sample, the more statistically significant the report will be.

Once we finish the report, employers will know the going rates for various functions — and employees, freelancers, and those seeking employment will know whether their compensation is in line with the market norms. So come on down and join the 500 people who have already taken our Language Services Salary Survey. Take the survey in: [surveys have been closed]
