The U.K.’s Sunday Times reported that 2005 was the best year for the buyout industry "since the boom days of 2000 with deals worth GBP 23 billion." Forbes wrote that U.S. mergers and acquisitions volume reached US$1.1 trillion.
In May 2005 we commented on the overuse of "lost in translation." The excess usage continues, and the term has spawned derivatives.
