Thomas X. Hammes, a retired Marine colonel and author of "The Sling and The Stone: On War in the 21st Century," wrote about the need for Arabic translators in Iraq on the Op-Ed page of the New York Times." Without an interpreter, our people are essentially blind to what is happening around them. They cannot tell if the loud argument in the market is over the price of tomatoes or a threat of murder."

"SDL International announced a strategic solution purchase by euroscript Group. As one of the world’s top ten language service providers (LSPs), euroscript will standardize on the SDL platform on a company-wide basis to solve key challenges in its growing business, and to deliver higher-quality, more responsive services. euroscript is a leader among LSPs that deliver content through the globalization supply chain - a process that spans from authoring to content management to localization to publishing. Increasingly, LSPs are required not only to provide localization services, but to extend the value of global content to each phase of the chain. To address this challenge, LSPs are turning to GIM solutions, which streamline and integrate the globalization supply chain, and help LSPs shorten time to market for their customers and improve the quality of LSP services."
