In the wake of SDL’s acquisition of Trados, we reviewed our research for advice to buyers of technology for automating their translation. In a piece dated 30 March 2005, we noted that nearly 9 out of 10 companies outsource their translation and localization work to language service providers (data from “How to Avoid Getting Lost in Translation” December 2003). Our advice to buyers back then was pretty clear.
